We made this on a Sunday, instead of breakfast we ended up refrigerating it and finishing it for lunch. It was so worth the wait and a favorite! 

Yep, I do own a pill organizer

After a day of taking supplements and prescriptions I knew I needed a way to organize them. There is nothing quite so aging as shopping for the right pill organizer. I take on average 15-17 pills a day. I bought this pill organizer from Walgreen's. I love it because I can pop out one or two days worth of pills and take them with me. Perfect for an afternoon out running errands or a day or two away from home.

Welcome to Paleo!

After all the fun I had with the elimination diet, I was so looking forward to my next appointment with Dr. Lundell. My appointment was in the early afternoon so I asked my mom to pick Kaylee up from school and I left shortly after dropping her off. I met up with Kevin and he drove the rest of the way to Spanish Fork

Thanks to the "Affordable Care Act" or as I like to call it, The Un-Affordable Care Act, our pretty ridiculous insurance is now even more expensive and covers even less. New year, same plan. I am so not looking forward to seeing the bill for this.

They took my vitals, and surprisingly my weight was back up to what it was at my last appointment. (Somewhere around 103 lbs.) They had no idea that I felt so near to death at times... not really but kind of. I had dropped as low as 98 lbs! Whoa I haven't weighed that much since Jr. High.

I came prepared with a list of all of the supplements and dose amounts that I had been taking. It was much faster than listing them all myself.

I filled out a symptom sheet once again. I noticed that a few things had changed.

Functional Medicine

Functional medicine to is well.. functional. Functional - Relating to the way in which something works or operates.

Kevin in an attempt to be funny, said, "So does that mean that other types of medicine are non-functional?" I couldn't help to laugh, but I have to admit that he is incredibly smart...

Functional medicine is "a medical practice or treatments that focus on optimal functioning of the body and its organs, usually involving systems of holistic or alternative medicine."

What we really have here is a PERFECT balance between Holistic/Natural expertise and Modern Medicine.

Fermented Lemonade

Fermenting foods is so EASY! Of course I didn't think that at first, but now that I have made several different items, I can safely say that anyone can do this!

I wanted to start off simple. I decided on Lemonade! Lemonade + Probiotics = A Happy Tummy

Below is a picture from a facebook post I made. You will see two half gallons of lemonade. I believe one was raspberry and one was strawberry. I also made a batch of Fermented Carrot Sticks.

My new website has been launched!

I will be doing most of my blogging on my new birth blog! There will be lots of birth topics to be discussed! Of course I will still keep all of our family everyday things here :) A huge THANK YOU to my husband, who helped me decide on my final font for my logo! He rarely gives his opinion but I am so glad he did this time! We both love the "baby belly" looking "b" in the font that we chose.

I already have a couple births booked! I truly LOVE being a doula. Right now I am still feeling like I have so much to offer and not enough people to help so please refer me to your friends and family and send them my way! I would love to help them all! The biggest problem I am facing right now is that not very many people know what a doula is and what I do. Lately I have been very closely related to as being a midwife. I AM NOT a midwife, and I do not deliver babies.

A new calling... a new direction in our lives.

Just a few days ago I got a call from our bishopric, I thought for sure it had to involve Kevin. I have been teaching Relief Society for only a handful of months. Surprise surprise... I am the new Young Women's 1st counselor. Just as I was adjusting everything changed. I'm really going to miss teaching Relief Society. I have learned so many things from preparing those lessons.

Sunday, April 14th, I was officially called, and set apart. I feel like this is the start of something new. I am scared, and stressed, but so excited!

dōTERRA

We are really getting into sharing dōTERRA essential oils. They have changed our lives in so many ways! I truly know that it was a blessing from my Heavenly Father that allowed us to find them and be so open to using them. When I am having a hard time with something I always pray and use essential oils, and if I need extra help I ask Kevin to give me or the kids a blessing. Sometimes I just know that the oils are the reason things get better. Then I humble myself and remember that they too came from my Heavenly Father. 

Just this morning Kaylee told me that we should take some over to her best friend who has been sick. She told me she really wants her to have oils too! The mind of a child is so simple, here I worry about what people will think, or what they will say, and she just wants to share. I want to be more like her.

Childbirth International... Becoming a Doula.

On September 24th, I started the process to become a Doula, or as I like to call it a "Labor Support Specialist." It has been such a great journey so far and I am so excited that I will be professionally supporting women and their families during the labor and birth process. After searching out the companies that offer Doula certification I felt that "Childbirth International" was the right one for me. It is such a great program, the manuals are full of so much information and I feel confident in being prepared for the adventures that are ahead of me. It has not been easy!
