Goldenwest 5K!

Kevin and I decided to participate in a 5K, all the money was donated to schools in South Ogden.
It turned out really well. I finished in 36 minutes!

I caught a cold just a week before the run and I really lacked the conditioning I wanted. It was so much more work than I thought it would be.
I thought I was going to die!

I really do love my husband!
He hung back and helped push me along when it was getting rough.

I'm SO glad we did this! It felt so good to burn all those calories!

We met up with my aunt and grandma when we got there.

It was so much fun getting away and spending time away from the

Beehive Beauties Pageant

Our day started bright and early! Kaylee got a bath, got all lathered up with lotion.
and her hair done while she ate breakfast.

We got to Weber State and as soon as we walked in she got everyone's attention.
Our cute little girl was cute even with her curlers still in!
Kaylee was contestant number 205. She was the 5th of 7 girls in the 12-23 month age group. It was so exciting to hear all the compliments she got as we were waiting for the pageant to start.
Kaylee all dressed and ready to go!
Kaylee won "Sweetest Photo" this is the picture we entered..
I'm so proud of her! She did an amazing job waving and blowing kisses.
I just smiled as I took pictures and heard the crowd talk about how cute she was!
We were pretty fired up with the results. She did win two awards but she did not place.
I did want to cry on the way home, Kevin and I were just surprised and confused.
Out of 7 girls she couldn't win 3rd?

I think a lot of the audience was shocked too. I guess that is what we had coming for being so confident. After seeing the other contestants I was pretty sure we had it in the bag. Darn PRIDE! Of course her Grandmas and Grandpas thought she was the cutest.
I'll have to post some better pictures when I get them from the Grandparents.

We learned from this experience that we don't have to spend money to try to get a few unexperienced judges' approval. Overall the pageant was a TON of fun! And I can't promise I won't try it again.

To top the day off... Kaylee and I went grocery shopping and we had non stop compliments. Seriously we broke a record for how many people came up to us. It was funny watching a couple different husbands nudge their wives "Look at how cute she is" as they made funny faces to get her to laugh.

To bad she was a loser of the Cutest Baby Contest...
We love her through and through and to me she will always be the most beautiful girl in the world!

Valentines Day

Kaylee eating her 1st Valentine Sugar Cookie

It was nice to spend the day together as a family. Kevin was able to take the day off. Sunday night I made Kevin "Spicy, Sexy, Penne Pasta" a recipe I got from Good Things Utah. It was so good!! We decided to make it a tradition. Who would have thought dipping spicy pasta in chocolate would be so amazing?! On Monday I made French Toast for breakfast and then I bought balloons for Kaylee from Dollar Tree. I also got her a new toothbrush, a coloring book, and Elmo stickers.
Kevin took us to the mall and bought me a few new undershirts. I told Kevin I didn't want flowers this year. So he got me a gift card for Massage Envy instead. I am so excited to use it! I know I will enjoy this so much more!!  We had Farrs ice cream for a little snack while we were waiting for a table at Texas Roadhouse. Yummy! We invited my brothers and my mom to come along because my dad was in Montana. He is currently going to school  to become a Taxidermist.

These are my cute Valentines Decorations..

I Mod Podged these hearts to make a collage.

I used a roll of Valentine wrapping paper
left behind by the previous occupants.

What a great way to use some of it up!

I bought these wooden hearts from the good ole DI. Added some paint and sanded them. Tied them up for the finishing touch. I paid $1 for a set of 3!

This is my Willow Tree collection Kevin has got me for Mother's Day and my birthday the past couple years.

I got the heart garland for 25 cents.

I love my willow tree figurines
And finally my kitchen table..

Place mats for 50 cents and silk flowers for a dollar.

Potty Training now in Progress...

Friday, January 21st I brought the subject up to Kevin. Saturday I suggested the idea of going together as a family to buy a potty! Kaylee was very excited to sit and discover all the cool things it could do.

Sunday, Kevin and I both shared our Sacrament talks about "Families." I spent the day in Nursery helping one of the leaders out with all the little kiddos. I found out that both of her daughters were ready at 18 months!
I decided why not try? We'll just see how it goes.

After church we ran to the potty, but she had gone just as we walked in the door. After Lunch, we tried to poop but that ended up on the floor. Later we tried to pee but most of that was on the floor as well. Oh man, what did I get myself into! While I made dinner, Kevin sat in the bathroom with her and to our surprise she went! I couldn't believe it. We made a very big deal about it but she didn't care to much. Just before bed we could hear her in her room talking and laughing. I got her out of her bed and we decided to try again. We got the books out and read a bunch of stories. She just wanted to sit so we decided we might as well let her as long as she wanted to. All three of us were surprised again as we heard the potty start to sing!

Monday, Kaylee woke up 15 minutes early and called for me, but we didn't make it in time. We had a very rough morning. I decided we were going to take a break, at least for a couple weeks. I had been moping up the floor all morning. Kaylee woke up from her nap dry so after trying the potty again, we got a success! We went to Walmart and she picked out cute underwear, I bought her puppy stickers, and yogurt melts! (her favorite snack) 1st accident she was trying to open the lid to the potty. 2nd accident she told me "potty" she sat, and then she got up and ran, and peed by the wall. I made dinner and told Kevin it was all him! We gave her a bath, got her in a dry diaper and jammies. While we were talking we heard her cry for help, which I thought was because she was stuck under a chair. Kevin noticed her get up and do the potty dance. "Potty, Potty, Potty" she said. Jumping up and down.. We ran, but we didn't make it because of the zip up jammies. She gets so frustrated every time she wets herself. So frustrating for mommy too!

Tuesday, (today) I wasn't sure if I wanted to continue. . But I also didn't know if I had a choice. Because of this, Kaylee now knows when she has to pee and it bothers her. Kaylee woke up 20 minutes early, but I was relaxing in the bath and we didn't make it again. I could tell she had just barely gone in her diaper. She wore underwear. She went without underwear. And now I know she can hold it in because she hasn't gone all day. We tried the potty. We took a break and then tried again. So she wouldn't be in pain I put her back in a diaper and she told me as she was peeing. And then later as I was on the phone with Kevin, she came up freaking out as she was pooping. We dumped, and flushed, I changed her, we put the potty away. I cleaned up the house and she watched Sesame Street. We played and then watched the news. She started her potty dance once again. But I was thinking "No way, Just go in your diaper" I asked her if she needed to go potty and she ran to the bathroom saying "potty." She sat, she ran around the bathroom, sat again, got up again. And then I saw the look on her face and a drop of pee hit the floor. I grabbed her and put her on the potty. We sat, waited, and then she let it all go! I was so proud of her!! The potty sang, and she clapped. She helped me flush it and I helped her wash her hands. Then she picked out her puppy sticker. She was so excited. And then I told her she got a treat too! She jumped up and down. I love her so much!!

Kaylee is 18 months!

I can't believe my little baby is 18 months! I had such a hard time with this. I really have been dreading her leaving me and going to nursery. I just couldn't understand how so many moms were counting down the days, and I just couldn't let her go. Our first day (Jan 9, 2010) of nursery ended up going well. She loved it actually. Mommy, Daddy and Kaylee had a great day. In fact I think I am going to LOVE Relief Society now.

Kaylee had her Well Care visit on January 12th, She was 30.9 inches (28%) and weighed in at 19 pounds and 5 ounces. Still only (1%)!! Our doctor was totally amazed by her vocabulary! At 15 months she should have been able to say 2 other words besides Mommy and Daddy. (the minimum requirement) She was at 20!

Three months later she asked us if she knew 10 words..

I made a list before the appointment and she was a couple away from 60!!
We are so proud of her!

And that brings us to her head circumference 47cm (64%) She was 55% at 15 months. Huge head for that little body!

We are excited to see how much she grows in the next 6 months! Also posted are her 18 months pictures taken at Target.

Can you believe it?

Well... I just turned 21 and Kaylee is now 14 months old. And she is walking! Just last week she decided to venture away from furniture, and day by day she is getting better. Yesterday she taught herself to get up to standing without pulling herself up on furniture.

New Floor put in by my wonderful Daddy!
We are getting settled into our new home which we finally moved into the night before Kaylee's birthday. Everything is painted and we have new carpet and recently new flooring put into our kitchen. It is starting to feel like home.

Poor little Kaylee is getting so confused about Kevin leaving for work. She finally warms up to him on Sunday and then he disappears on Monday. Also we are having the constant noise of construction workers out front because they are building a new phase on our street. Kaylee confuses the beeping of the trucks and tractors as Da Da's truck. I'm trying to explain it the best I can but for now we just say daddy went bye bye. We are really hoping a new job comes along soon. 60 hours and going out of town every week is not working out.

Home Sweet Home!

After months of headaches and running into every problem possible.. We have our own home! After we lost a townhouse we had put an offer on, we only had ONE day to find another place and get that new offer accepted. We found a cute, large, fixer upper duplex in Tooele and an okay, townhouse with a desperate need of TLC in Ogden. With only one offer accepted on the last day to receive the tax credit, our future was chosen. We now reside in Ogden, Utah! Notice the picture on the right. This is Kevin telling you how we feel about our Realtor and Loan Officer.

Despite all the "fun" we had with them. Check out the view. This was taken from our bay window in the Master Bedroom. aka My new room! BEAUTIFUL!

After signing all the fun papers that come with buying a house, I got straight to work. Washing, cleaning, sanding, taping, and painting. I thought it was never going to end! Kevin works long days and our goal was to have it ready to move in before Kaylee's 1st birthday. I owe a very special thank you to Kaylee's grandmas for watching her and allowing me to work from morning til night for an entire week. After getting a basement window fixed so we could officially own the keys to OUR house and replacing the carpet we were able to move in on July 8th, 2010 (the day before Kaylee's birthday.) Kevin and I spent the early hours of the morning getting boxes sorted and out of the way for her party.
